This week I had my first cooking class. The teacher was very friendly and most of the students participating were either mature woman, or grown up guys. This was an opportunity for me to experience a change in environment, surrounded by experienced people. The teacher called Diana, was very helpful throughout the entire process. During this class we learned how to do a simple pasta, that consisted of olive oil, salt, pepper and small bacon parts. It was both easy to make, and really fast; ideal for a college student that finds himself in a hurry. We also decided to do a delicious salad that included lettuce, parmesan cheese and other vedgetables. I feel that I learned 2 recipes that would contribute to my final goal.

In the look of not being able to complete the past project, I decided to look at different issues concerning college. One of the most important ones, is the food we eat. Getting away from home, and having a tight budget, can make it hard to follow a good nutrition regime. This made me think of building a collection of recipes and make it a booklet so that I can give it to students who are going to college internationally. Having nutrition as one of my passions, made this project even more interesting.
In order to learn more about cooking and the recipes I could collect, I decided to take a few nutrition classes in order to learn more about what could be done at an economic price, and that it tastes good at the same time. |
